One of the major advantages of a web-based simulation platform is the ability for project sharing and live collaboration. Close team collaboration and the sharing of results and insights are important to realize the value simulation brings to the engineering design process. Currently, SimScale offers collaboration with different options to share projects with other users, within or outside an organization, and also with the SimScale Support team. Project Sharing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Share<\/em> functionality can be accessed from the project overview page:<\/p>\n\n\n

The share options can also be accessed directly from within the Workbench. The share window contains many options:<\/p>\n\n\n

  1. By clicking on the share icon, you can access the share window directly from the Workbench.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. You can type in the usernames or email addresses of other SimScale users to share a project with them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Professional users can set a project to Public or Private. Note that a public project will be available to all SimScale users to access, copy, and download CAD models\/results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. By sharing a project with support, you give access to the SimScale Support Team to your project. This is helpful, for example, when you ask for troubleshooting a particular case. It is possible to control the duration for which the project will be shared.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    When sharing a project, the user granted access permissions will receive an email from SimScale with a link to the shared project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    <\/i>How do I share a link to my simulation from the workbench?<\/p>\n <\/div>\n

    To get the shareable link, open your project and copy the URL directly from your browser\u2019s address bar. This link will always point to the current state of your simulation. Keep in mind<\/i> that, if your project is private, the receiving user will need to have share access to open your project, otherwise they will receive an error message.\r\n\r\n

    Public versus Private<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Public projects can be seen and copied by everyone. On the other hand, private projects are only visible to users who created them. That means if it’s your project then only you can view it and nobody else. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Projects created with a professional account are private by default. With the community plan, you can only create public projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
